The Best Chunky Knit Sweater

Well, it took me long enough, but I finally found the BEST chunky knit sweater!  Now, I’ve come across some fabulous chunky knits this season, but their prices were way higher than I wanted to spend.  I was ecstatic (yes, I was really that excited) when I found this one the other day.  I don’t like spending a lot of money on winter items right now because spring collections will be invading clothing stores starting in February, but when you find one this good priced for under $50, well, you buy it.

Winter on Long Island has been brutal at times and who knows what lies ahead.  When I was in the mall the other day, I came across a bunch of sweaters on sale in various stores, but none fit all of my needs…or should I say wants.  Here’s what I was looking for (and what I found!):

  1. It needs to be warm and cozy.  (The one I found is a wool-blend and… it’s not itchy! No tank underneath required.)
  2. It needs to be good quality because I plan on wearing it next season too.
  3. I needs to be long.  I don’t really like the way I look in shorter sweaters, plus it’s always nice to be able to wear leggings with a sweater… that’s pretty much my mommy uniform on the weekends.
  4. It needs to be versatile.  I like buying things that I can wear for work or play.
  5. And of course, it needs to be affordable.  I did not want to spend a lot of money.  I’m looking forward to spring shopping, so I need to save my pennies for then!

I wasn’t drawn to this sweater immediately.  It took me a few glances before I finally decided to try it on.  It definitely looks better on than just sitting on a hanger!  In addition to meeting all five criterion above, I adore the textured detail.  It has a classic, yet trendy look to it.  (Those dots though…)  I always love a good neutral too.  It just adds to the versatility.  I also love how it has a slouchy fit.  Slouchy sweaters feel as if you are wrapped up in a cozy blanket.

These jeans are one of the best pairs I own!  They are so soft and have some “give” to it, which is nice.  I’m wearing them in a medium wash.  They are only $68 too.  These booties are my favorite!  They are cute, comfortable, and are currently 20% off.  They come in three different colors and are will work perfectly in early spring as well.

Fun note:  Taking these photos was a family affair.  It was the first time my husband and I brought the kids along.  Luckily, they were very well behaved.  Thank you technology!
