As the temperatures drop, all I want to do is be cozy! Give me some hot chocolate (Sorry, I’m not a pumpkin spice latte girl) and a warm blanket, and I am good to go! Now is the time where it’s too warm for a heavy jacket, but too chilly to leave the house without an extra layer. Well…enter the sweater vest! This is the perfect article of clothing for this time of year. It provides the much needed warmth and coziness, and it’s not too bulky. Sweater vests can be very versatile. Today, we are sharing with you three different ways to style a sweater vest for the fall.
#1: Simple & Casual
This sweater vest is so soft and comfortable. It was the perfect layer to wear on this chilly, windy day. It also comes in various colors. To achieve this look, all you need is this amazing sweater vest, a distressed pair of girlfriend jeans, and a fitted black mock-neck shirt. The jeans I am wearing in the picture are no longer available, but I have been crushing on these girlfriend jeans. I honestly like them better and will probably end up purchasing them in the near future. They are also under $100! Mock-neck shirts are very popular right now. The one I am wearing is very soft and fitted, so it almost appears to be a bodysuit when worn with high-waisted jeans. (Here’s a really good bodysuit version and an affordable sleeveless bodysuit if you prefer that.) I also decided to wear my new sock booties because I’ve been dying to try them with jeans.
#2: Wear to Work
This is one of our favorite sweater vests! It can be worn as a shawl or a vest. It’s thick, without being too bulky and it is only $30! For a chic work-look, Silvia is wearing it over a simple, gray long sleeve with some fun jewelry. (Here’s an affordable bangle set that is gorgeous!) One of the best pairs of pants for work are these! They are thick, stretchy, and slimming. They are basically like fancy leggings that are work appropriate. A pair of black patent heels finishes off this outfit.
#3: Dinner Date
For this occasion, you could wear this vest again over a black, body-conscious midi dress like this one. I decided to wear my favorite gold tassel necklace to complement the gold trim on the clutch. By the way, I purchased this clutch before summer and it’s still one of my favorites! It’s a piece that can be worn all year round and comes in so many different color and pattern options. These sandals have been a go-to as well for quite some time. They are classic and simple.
