Adding color to my wardrobe was never easy for me because I tend to gravitate towards black, brown and grey. Doesn’t everybody-lol? The last couple of years, however, I have made an effort to look for clothing that added that extra pop of color. Well, to be perfectly honest Lauren reminds me to add color to my life – haha. The summertime is by far my favorite season and I tend to include the most color into my wardrobe during this time. The outfit I choose to highlight has a very classic summer look which, of course includes my favorite brand J.Crew. As I wrote in my about me page, I stressed that my fashion choices will always be truly representative of me. This outfit is such a ‘me’ outfit as my friends and family would say. Jeans, button down, heels, clutch and a blazer – what else do I need?
So how about these white distressed jeans? I found these beauties at Old Navy and they are absolutely perfect. Old Navy has several types of jean options and there is a style for everyone. I really like these in particular because the jean is lightweight but yet the fabric is thick enough so there is no see through issues. Ladies – you know what I’m talking about 😉 They are mid rise, have a raw hem and are super comfortable. I paired the jeans with this button down that I have had forever. EVERYONE should have a chambray shirt in their closet! I have worn this J.Crew chambray button down with skirts, pants and leggings. You can achieve so many fabulous looks with this button down. Looking towards fall, denim is all the rage and this chambray shirt will not disappoint. Now, for the pop of color… I am completely obsessed with red this year! Such a great color and it adds, no matter which article of clothing, an exclamation point to your outfit. For this look I included the Rebecca Minkoff envelope bag. I know, I have included this bag in several posts. I can’t help it, it’s awesome! Keep scrolling to read more…
Now let’s chat about this blazer. Give me liberty or give me… just the blazer! (Sorry, American history reference lol) The J.Crew liberty print is a fabulous floral pattern (also a trend heading into fall) that J.Crew has incorporated into shoes, bathing suits, dresses, shorts…. basically everything. Love at first site! A good blazer can be worn to work, hanging out with friends or with shorts for quick errands around town during those chillier summer days or nights (we have had some days at 68 degrees here in NY). I think the print is very fun and lively and adds color to any outfit. When I put it on, it makes me smile. FYI – Low inventory of the blazer at J.Crew however, it is in stock at Nordstrom — yes, Nordstrom carries some J.Crew pieces 😉
Some alternatives to Silvia’s look:
