Since the spring, the lingerie look has gone beyond the bedroom and out in public. From slip dresses, to lace camisoles, to bralettes, these sexy numbers are everywhere! I remember back in the early 2000s having a lace camisole in every color. Trends fade, but they really never go away do they? They take a little break and resurface at the right time. Satin and lace camisoles have been making their way back into the fashion world for the past two years or so. Designers like Rag and Bone, Givenchy, and Chloe have been incorporating silky and lacy numbers into their collections. Luckily, you don’t have to break the bank to incorporate this trend into your wardrobe. Today, we are sharing with you three ways to wear a simple, lace camisole. Who knew a camisole with lingerie roots could be so versatile?
For a more casual look we paired this white Abercrombie & Fitch lace cami with ripped jeans, shawl vest and black open toed booties. By the way the shawl vest is such a great versatile piece for the fall and winter. The best part is… it’s under $30! It can be worn as a shawl or open front as a vest over a dress or leggings. This is a great casual weekend look, dress down day for work (maybe swap out the ripped jeans for jeans without rips 😉 or a low key date night. For this outfit we did not add many accessories except this great BP clutch which is a generous size to hold all of your valuables.
A lace camisole is a good go-to piece for a night out. You can pretty much throw it on with anything, whether it be a pair of jeans, skirt, or black leather pants and it just works! Being that it’s still summer, we veered from the all black look that we tend to gravitate toward for a night out and went for a black lace cami with a pair of light wash jeans. This cami is only $30 and these jeans are $40! This cami also comes in a variety of colors. We styled it minimally here, but you could wear so many different accessories depending on how “blinged out” you’d want to look. A cool moto jacket for chillier nights always matches a lace cami well.
Pale pink is usually thought of being a spring or summer color, but it is was all over the runways at New York Fashion Week last February. We took this pink lace cami from the summer and styled with with this amazingly comfortable jacket for a more office-appropriate look. Pair it with a pair of black pants like this one or this one, and you’re ready for work!
