The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is a highly anticipated sale that allows shoppers to grab great deals in preparation for the fall. Your Nordstrom shopper status determines when you can start shopping the sale. I am a Nordy Club member and my current status is “Influencer,” so I will be shopping the sale starting Monday, August 10. The sale will be open to the public on August 19. In years past, I have planned and prepared with excitement and in all honesty, buy way more than I need. However, 2020 has proven to be quite different… This year, I did not have those feelings. Finding the mental energy to peruse every single page of the sale during its preview seemed like a daunting task, when in the past, it was an exciting one! My plan this year is to stick to buying wardrobe staples and follow the saying, “less is more.” Another factor that will come into play when making my purchases will be whether or not schools will reopen this fall. That decision is supposed to be made by the governor of New York today, so that will surely impact what I end up adding to my cart on Monday.
Here are my favorites:
So although these are my favorites, I do not plan on buying all of these items. I honestly can’t afford it and know I don’t need them all. I love Free People sweaters. They are great quality and I get a lot of use out of them. The Karl Lagerfeld pumps that I included are great for work! I purchased a pair in black last year during the sale and they were my most worn shoe. The heel is the perfect height and they are very comfortable. I needed a new nude pump, so I figured this would be great…if indeed, I return to the classroom. I also get a lot of use out of cardigans and lightweight jackets. They are so versatile. I know that no matter which ones I decide to buy, I will get a lot of use out of them. I really love the Blanc Noir jacket! Hopefully it doesn’t sell out by Monday, because that is a must-have for me!
These are some items that I already own (and love!) that are part of the sale:
Barefoot Dreams makes the coziest cardigans, robes, and blankets! They are pricey, so if you have thought about buying one in the past, now would be a good time to grab one. These do not go on sale often. I love the Spanx faux leather leggings. I have had mine for years! They are one of the most worn items in my closet! I love the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz mechanical pencil. I use mine daily, so I will definitely be getting this because I needed a new one anyway. This year, a limited edition set is available where you get the brow gel as well. I have never used it before (I always used one by Benefit), but I’m excited to try this one. I love Gorjana and this crescent pendant necklace is an absolute favorite! It is available in silver as well. I love AG jeans and I’ve had this pair for over a year now. They are very soft and comfortable. You can wear them cuffed or uncuffed. They have a very similar pair in a darker wash that I really like too. AG jeans are pretty expensive, but you can get a great deal on them during the sale.
Activewear & Comfy Clothing that I am considering (especially if we end up doing another round of distance learning!):
Zella, Alo, and Sweaty Betty are great activewear brands! High quality materials! If I end up working from home again, I might grab some comfy loungewear instead of some of the items on my “favorites” list.
Noteworthy pieces:
I need a new curling wand, so I am considering on of these. I LOVE the brand GHD (I have one of their flat irons), but I know T3 is really good too (and I’ve always wanted to try it).:
Things I’m eyeing for the kids (Bella is 4 & Brody turns 7 next week):

Never feel pressured to purchase anything because of me or any other bloggers. We love to shop and share, but remember, it’s just a sale. Although prices go up starting August 31, many of these items will go on sale again at some point in the future. If you are comfortable and able to shop the sale now, then grab pieces that you absolutely love and/or pieces that you will use often. As always, I truly appreciate you checking out my blog. I appreciate your support!
